The strain transducer built for challenging environments

The SLH700 series of extensometers is designed to accurately measure the force applied to a structure, which can lead to deformations larger magnitudes.

Made from durable stainless steel, the SLH700 is robust, versatile, and reliable.

With the possibility to configure it with or without an integrated amplifier, the SLH700
offers many different customization options tailored to your needs.

Inside the SLH700 strain transducer

  • The SLH700 is a versatile strain transducer for force measurement and strain monitoring in components like cranes, presses, and roll stands.
  • Its hermetically sealed, IP68-rated design ensures durability in harsh environments, including resistance to oil and outdoor conditions.
  • Easily mountable with two screws and equipped with a flexible drag chain-suitable cable, it minimizes stiffening on structures.
  • Available with versatile outputs of 1.5 mV/V, 0–10 V, and 4–20 mA, it supports various needs across different setups.
  • The adjustment assistant simplifies calibration, making it ideal for dynamic presses and long-term, real-time monitoring.

Key Areas of Application

SLH700 strain links are suited to silo weighing:

  • IP68 protection and hermetic seal – the sensors are waterproof for outdoor use, and can withstand harsh environments.
  • Flexible measurement chains – choose between sensors with integrated electronics or a measurement chain with passive SLH700 and PMX, including parallel connections.
  • Easy installation – secure the sensor with just two boreholes and M6 screws.
  • Retrofitting – easily apply the sensors to existing structures.
  • Practice-oriented calibration – calibrate with integrated electronics in partial load ranges, which don’t need full nominal loads.

Because of their optimized design and technical properties, SLH700 extensometers are well equipped for press load monitoring:

  • Suitable for parallel connection with a high output signal – up to eight sensors can be connected to compensate for bending or other influences.
  • Optimal measuring point protection – the silicone- and plastic-free sensor design, and oil-resistant flexible cable suitable for drag chains, ensure reliable measurement.
  • Economical measurement solution – ideal for processes that only require one sensor, the SLH700 is also available with optional integrated electronics.

Used in welding or riveting tasks in manufacturing, for instance, SLH700 strain links are an economical yet effective solution for force monitoring in C-frames:

  • Easy installation – the sensor is protected due to its hermetic sealing, and is easily mountable with just two M6 screws.
  • Low restoring force – because it exerts negligible impact on a machine’s stiffness, the SLH700 can be used on comparatively fragile constructions without influencing their performance.
  • Flexible measurement chain – choose between an active SLH700 strain link or a passive sensor with a suitable industrial amplifier, such as PMX or ClipX.
