HBK and DEWESoft, both technological leaders in test and measurement Data Acquisition, are delighted to announce the formation of a new joint venture company, jointly owned by both companies.
The joint venture (JV) company – to be known as Blueberry – is combining electronics and embedded software design competences from HBK and DEWESoft through R&D to create a new industry standard for Data Acquisition (DAQ) systems with a common Software Development Kit (SDK) for basic operation as well as common connectors, pinouts, interfaces and protocols. Both shareholders will create a set of compliant platforms using the JV as an accelerator providing both companies with technology and components to make this efficient and faster. Customers of HBK and of DEWESoft will be able in the future to use the SDK with an entire set of compliant platforms in their favourite programming environment.
Jure Knez, CEO of DEWESoft, and Jens Wiegand, CTO of HBK, agreed that “this new and exciting joint venture will allow both HBK and DEWESoft to bring their respective next generation of DAQ platforms to the market significantly faster than was previously possible. In addition, jointly developed new hard and software standards will help accelerate the creation of an open ecosystem which other industry participants can also use, benefiting their customers.”
