The K-U93A is our miniature sensor for tensile and compressive forces - ready to be configured in accordance with your needs.

Find bellow some explanations to our options.

Capacity

The sensor is available in measurement ranges from 1 kN to 50 kN.

Cable length

The standard version of the U93A is supplied with a 3 m cable (03M0). Additionally, the force transducer is available with the following cable lengths: 1.5 m (01M5), 6 m (06M0) and 12 m (12M0).

NOTE: Versions with inline amplifiers (VA1, VA2 and VAIO) can only be combined with 1.5 m and 3 m cable lengths.

Electrical connection and amplifier options

If requested, we can mount one of the following connectors on the U93A:

  • Y = Free ends, no plug assembly
  • F = D-sub-HD15, for connecting to MGC+ (e.g. AP01) or Scout amplifiers
  • Q = HD-sub-HD15, for connecting to many HBK signal conditioners in the Quantum series (MX410, Mx440, MX840, MX430, MX238)
  • N = MS plug, for connecting to HBK signal conditioner, such as MGC+ (AP03), DMP or DK38
  • VA1 = With inline amplifier 0 … 10 V
  • VA2 = With inline amplifier 4 … 20 mA
  • VAIO = With inline amplifier IO-Link

Transducer identification

You can order your sensor with a “Transducer Electronic Data Sheet”, TEDS (T). In this case, your sensor is equipped with an electronic memory that is programmed with the technical characteristics of the sensor. If the sensor is connected to an instrument with TEDS 0-wire functionality, for example, HBK's Quantum models or the ClipX modules, the instrument will read out the specific data and the setup process will run automatically.

NOTE: TEDS can only be ordered in conjunction with a plug option (Option F, Q or N). TEDS is only available for sensors without an inline amplifier module.

Firmware version

If you order a U93A with the VAIO option, you will get the latest firmware version, unless you choose an older version that is still available.

Rated output adjustment

The U93A force sensors have a rated output in the range from 1 mV/V to 1.5 mV/V. The sensors can be adjusted to 1 mV/V on request (J). In this case, the output resistance is adjusted as well so that several sensors can be connected in parallel.

NOTE: This option is not necessary for sensors with permanently connected amplifier module.
