Quality Management

As the first German company having been certified to ISO 9001 (in 1986), HBM has always developed its products in line with international quality standards.

  • In 1977, the HBM calibration laboratory was the first in Germany to be accredited by DKD (German Calibration Service, today: DAkkS). HBM calibrates measuring instruments for different measurement quantities to customer order, guaranteeing traceability as required by ISO 9001.
  • HBM's environmental management system has been certified to ISO 14001 since 1996. This underlines the company's achievement and continued determination to act in an environmentally responsible way.
  • In May 2015, HBM's energy management system was certified to ISO 50001.

HBM's environmental policy

HBM realized early on that the environmental impact of its high-quality products would require comprehensive consideration. By 1996, the measures implemented by the company resulted in the certification of HBM's Environmental Management System in compliance with ISO 14001 (see also information on Certification and Accreditation). See the statement on HBM's environmental policy (pdf) The ongoing introduction of EU directives, and their implementation in the form of laws, regulations, etc. on a national level, involve extensive responsibilities for the adaptation of products to changing requirements. At HBM, we consider this a challenge which will ultimately benefit our customers and the environment alike. Consequently, in almost all cases, our products comply with these requirements well before compliance becomes legally binding.
